Car Rental Cancellation & Refund Policy

General Policy

Car rental reservations made through car.adamvacations.com are subject to the cancellation and refund rules of the local car rental supplier, in addition to the terms outlined below.

By completing a booking, the customer agrees to these conditions.

Free Cancellation

  • Most car rental bookings allow free cancellation up to 24 or 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time
  • The exact free cancellation period will be clearly displayed during booking and in the confirmation email
  • Cancellations made within the free cancellation window will receive a full refund, excluding any non-refundable charges

Late Cancellation Fees

If a booking is cancelled after the free cancellation period, one or more of the following may apply:

  • Partial refund
  • One-day rental charge
  • No refund (supplier-dependent)

Late cancellation fees vary by:

  • Rental supplier
  • Location (USA or Europe)
  • Vehicle category
  • Rate type (prepaid or pay-at-counter)

No-Show Policy

A No-Show occurs if:

  • The customer fails to collect the vehicle at the scheduled pickup time
  • Required documents are not presented (valid license, credit card, ID)
  • The booking is not cancelled prior to pickup

No-shows are generally non-refundable.

Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method
  • Refund processing time:
  • USA: 5–10 business days
  • Europe / International: 7–14 business days
  • Bank or card issuer processing times may vary

Amendments to Bookings

Changes to a booking (dates, times, locations, car type) are subject to:

  • Vehicle availability
  • Supplier approval
  • Possible price difference

Some changes may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.

Non-Refundable Items

The following are typically non-refundable:

  • Insurance purchased at pickup
  • Optional extras selected and used
  • One-way fees charged by the supplier
  • No-show bookings

Early Returns

  • No refunds are issued for unused rental days
  • Early vehicle return does not entitle the customer to a partial refund

Special Rates & Promotions

  • Promotional, prepaid, or discounted rates may carry stricter cancellation rules
  • These conditions will be shown at the time of booking
